This itinerary offers a 7-day safari exploring Tanzania’s breathtaking parks, followed by the challenge of summiting Mount Kilimanjaro via the scenic Lemosho Route.

Days 1-7: Safari Adventure

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

  • Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your accommodation in Arusha.
  • Relax and prepare for your adventure.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

  • Drive to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2.5 hours).
  • Full-day game drive to explore the park’s vast elephant herds and iconic baobab trees.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park

  • Morning drive to Lake Manyara National Park (approx. 2 hours).
  • Discover the diverse landscapes and wildlife, including flamingos and tree-climbing lions.

Days 4-5: Central Serengeti

  • Drive to Central Serengeti (approx. 5-6 hours), with a game drive en route.
  • Spend two days exploring the Serengeti’s endless plains and abundant wildlife.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

  • Morning game drive in Serengeti, then head to Ngorongoro Crater (approx. 4 hours).

Day 7: Return to Arusha

Days 8-14: Kilimanjaro Climb (Lemosho Route)

Day 8: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree Camp)

  • Drive to Londorossi Gate for registration.
  • Trek through lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650 m / 8,694 ft).
    • Hiking Time: 3-4 hours.
    • Distance: 7 km / 4.3 miles.

Day 9: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp

  • Trek through heather and moorland to Shira 1 Camp (3,500 m / 11,482 ft).
    • Hiking Time: 5-6 hours.
    • Distance: 8 km / 5 miles.

Day 10: Shira 1 to Shira 2 Camp

  • Continue across the Shira Plateau to Shira 2 Camp (3,850 m / 12,631 ft).
    • Hiking Time: 4-5 hours.
    • Distance: 7 km / 4.3 miles.

Day 11: Shira 2 to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

  • Ascend to Lava Tower (4,600 m / 15,091 ft) for acclimatization before descending to Barranco Camp (3,900 m / 12,795 ft).
    • Hiking Time: 7-8 hours.
    • Distance: 10 km / 6.2 miles.

Day 12: Barranco to Karanga Camp

  • Climb the Barranco Wall, then trek to Karanga Camp (4,035 m / 13,238 ft).
    • Hiking Time: 4-5 hours.
    • Distance: 6 km / 3.7 miles.

Day 13: Karanga to Barafu Camp

  • Trek to Barafu Camp (4,640 m / 15,223 ft), your base for the summit attempt.
    • Hiking Time: 4-5 hours.
    • Distance: 4 km / 2.5 miles.

Day 14: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

  • Begin the summit attempt at midnight, reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895 m / 19,341 ft).
  • Descend to Mweka Camp (3,100 m / 10,170 ft).
    • Hiking Time: 12-14 hours.
    • Distance: 20 km / 12.4 miles.

Day 15: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

  • Descend through rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your certificate.
  • Transfer back to Arusha for rest or departure.
    • Hiking Time: 4-5 hours.
    • Distance: 10 km / 6.2 miles.
